When I call the phone company, they ask me to enter my telephone number.
Here's the strange thing: When they call me, i can see what number they're calling from. Strangely enough, they don't seem to know my number.
What are they using - Rotary dial? Let's hope that Caller ID is on its way for these poor folks.
Even after I've entered my number on the touchpad, and i finally get to speak with an agent -- this person again asks me for my telephone number. Not only are they lacking Caller ID, but their machines keep the number a secret from the customer service people.
I believe that this is truly one of the great wonders of our day -- I know the phone company's number, but apparently they don't know mine.
These days companies ask all sorts of questions for verification purposes. I think that we should all move forward towards doing business on-line. That way, we don't give out information over and over again to agents over the telephone.
