This short article was published in The Harvard Crimson after being censored by the editors for over a month. Despite the strong merits of the article, and other articles representing opposing viewpoints being printed, this barely got the editors' approval -- after quite a bit of insisting and bantering.
I am so glad that you had the opportunity of publishing this article, first of all. However, I count the readers as lucky for having a chance to read about your life. As Thomas Merton wrote in “Thoughts in Solitude:” “Cowardice keeps us ‘double minded’ – hesitating between the world and God. In this hesitation, there is no true faith – faith remains an opinion. We are never certain, because we never quite give into the authority of an invisible God. This hesitation is the death of hope.” I found a friend in you, someone that is not at all fearful to share the gospel with others, one that has an unwavering desire to serve God and has a wonderful ability to “take the plough and not look back.” I am blessed to have known such an individual and to have the advantage of calling him my friend. You are an open-minded, innocent, loving and intelligent guy that should never stop conveying whatever it is that God has for others through you. One of my personal goals is to learn how to love you.
