AIDS Clinic

Clinic director Father Tony spoke to me about Haiti's AIDS epidemic, with HIV and AIDS rates higher than almost anywhere outside of sub-saharan Africa. After our interview, he introduced Angel and myself to each of the 35 patients one by one. His mercy clinic gives these patients a clean hospital bed, medicines, and regular baths. This heart-wrenching work helps some of them survive, while it allows others to die with some semblance of dignity.
